Niseko Ski Apartments
About Niseko
Niseko is regarded as one of Japan's top 5 resorts. Equipped with an efficient lift system, mostly gondolas and covered chairlifts so even on the most extreme blizzard days, you can ride in comfort. Bad weather does not mean bad visibility in Niseko, as the resort has an abundance of tree runs and being low in altitude it rarely experiences true whiteout conditions that are often found in North American or European resorts of higher altitude.
Niseko is made up of 5 different resorts: Annupuri, Higashiyama, Hirafu, Hanazono and Moiwa. The SkiJapan.com lift pass provides access to 4 of the 5, the only exception being Moiwa, a smaller resort on the western side of Annapuri. Hirafu is where the majority of our customers stay, with easy access to Annupuri, Higashiyama and Hanazono from the top of the mountain or by shuttle bus from Hirafu.
The resort of Niseko is our base in Hokkaido. We have full-time staff there who will meet you at the airport, arrange your lift passes, show you where to ride or ski, take you to onsens (hot springs) and provide advice as you need it. Japan is a lot of fun if you do it the right way, and in Niseko we provide the infrastructure to make your holiday as easy and fun as possible. We have centrally located tour offices with bilingual staff open 7 days a week.Combined with resort reps, mountain staff, transport staff, ski school and rental staff we provide a full english speaking support system.
No jet lag, same time zone!
Japan is only two hours behind Australia's East Coast summer time and is only a 10 hour flight away. From Hong Kong it's a short 4 hour flight with direct Hong Kong to Chitose Airport flights with Cathay Pacific. From Singapore it's approximately 8.5 hours flight time via Tokyo. You usually leave home one day, and after a good night's sleep, you're skiing or boarding the next day! (depending on airline itinerary).
The Accommodation
All SkiJapan.com's accommodation is on snow, meaning you are never more than a 10 minute walk or 3 minute shuttle bus from the nearest lift. We have the widest selection of different styles of accommodation available, including traditional family-run pensiones and lodges, self-contained luxury apartments and hotels with Japanese and Western style bedding.
The Terrain
The terrain at Niseko is varied. There are legendary tree runs like Strawberry Fields and Miharashi, and there are huge powder fields off The Peak, just a 20 minute hike up from the top lift which will "blow your mind". There are some great steep runs at the Alpen Super Course and under the Kogen gondola. For beginners, there are beautifully groomed slopes at the base of the mountain. All runs are long and the 900m vertical drop ranks Niseko up there with other world class resorts.
